Progress at the library,

books redundantly make way

for DVDs of movies made

from fragments disassembled.

No more standing in line

for endless variations

of Mrs Greenbaum’s bunions.

Perhaps it’s a crime or even a mystery,

now I can’t find a bloody thing.

I miss Mrs Greenbaum now she’s gone,

but most of all the books.
