West Midlands Writers – Things You May Be Interested In…

The application window is now open for the 2015-16 Cohort of Room 204 Writer Development Programme with Writing West Midlands.

Go have a look – if you’re a writer based in the West Midlands this could be for you. The window closes 16th February 2015 so you need to get your skates on. Here is the link to the relevant section of The Writing West Midlands website — while you’re there, take a look around. As a member of the 2014-15 cohort, I can’t speak highly enough of this programme.

I’m looking forward to my next event which is being run by Appetite Stoke on the subject of Cultural Reporting on Saturday 7th February – I believe places may still be available. Appetite Stoke is a rather wonderful 3 year programme that will get more people to experience and be inspired by the arts from Stoke-on-Trent. – See more at: http://www.appetitestoke.co.uk

There’s a Writers’ Networking meeting  run by Writing West Midlands coming up on March 14 in Dudley 10:30 am – 12:30 pm – free of charge and you won’t find a more welcoming and informative set of folks. If you think networking is simply an exchange of business cards and small talk – these events could change your mind. Find out more here

In April I will be attending Pow-Wow Festival on 26th April – at The Prince of Wales, 113 Alcester Rd, Moseley, Birmingham. B13 8EE. A fantastic line-up of speakers including BAFTA Fellow Andrew Davies, Nicholas Royle, Clare Furniss, David Gaffney, Danuta Kean, Kit de Waal and Katy Guest. I believe tickets are still available although limited, so again get your skates on – and oh yes,  it’s in a pub garden – books and a pub – heaven!! Find out more here

These are just a selection of what’s coming up in the region – more can be found here
